시대는 빠르게 변하고 있다. 디자이너가 이 시대에 살아남고 성장하기 위해 디자이너에게 필요한 건 유연한 적응력과 자신을 갱신하는 힘이다. 이번 콘퍼런스는 바로 그 비결을 모색하는 자리다. AI 등 첨단 기술과 플랫폼을 이끄는 연사들이 ‘진화’의 언어를 들려주고, 오랜 시간 자신만의 세계를 지켜온 디자이너와 건축가들이 ‘생존’의 지혜를 공유 한다. 그러나 두 개념은 나란히 맞서는 것이 아니다. 진화는 생존의 방식 속에서 구체화되고, 생존은 끊임없는 진화를 통해 이어진다. 찰스 다윈의 통찰처럼, 강한 자가 아니라 변화에 가장 섬세하게 반응하는 자가 미래를 이어간다. 이번 무대는 디자인이 어떻게 내일을 준비하고 있는지를 보여주는 하나의 증언이 될 것이다.

The world is evolving at unprecedented speed. For designers, the key to thriving in this era is adaptability and the power of renewal. At the Design Korea Conference, global leaders in AI and emerging platforms will speak the language of 'evolution', while visionary designers and architects will share the wisdom of 'survival'. 디자인코리아와 서울디자인페스티벌이 ‘생존과 진화’를 주제로 국제 컨퍼런스를 진행합니다. 시대의 변화에 조응하고 성장을 갈망하는 디자이너라면 반드시 주목해야 할 행사입니다.찰스 다윈은 《종의 기원》에서 “가장 강한 종이 살아남는 것이 아니라, 변화에 가장 잘 적응한 종이 살아남는다”고 말했습니다. 디자인계도 예외가 아닙니다. 기술과 산업, 문화의 진화가 그 어느 때보다 빠르게 교차하는 지금, 디자이너에게 필요한 것은 ‘완성’이 아니라 ‘적응’의 감각입니다.한국디자인진흥원의 디자인코리아와 서울디자인페스티벌이 올해 최초로 국제 컨퍼런스를 공동 기획하며 ‘생존과 진화’를 주제로 내건 이유입니다. ‘진화 Evolution : 창발에서 진화로, 디자인이 이끄는 혁신의 방향’과 ‘생존 Survival : 생존의 전략, 새로운 질서 속 디자인의 역할’이라는 두 가지 소주제 아래에 세션이 진행됩니다. DESIGN KOREA and the SEOUL DESIGN FESTIVAL co-host an international conference under the theme “Survival and Evolution.” It is a must-attend event for designers who aspire to grow and adapt to the ever-changing tides of our time.As Charles Darwin wrote in On the Origin of Species, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” The same holds true for design. In an age where technology, industry, and culture evolve and intersect faster than ever before, what designers need most today is not a sense of completion, but an instinct for adaptation.That is why the Korea Institute of Design Promotion’s Design Korea and the Seoul Design Festival have come together for the first time to co-host this international conference. The program unfolds under two subthemes: 'Evolution: From Emergence to Evolution — The Direction of Innovation Driven by Design' and 'Survival: Strategies for Survival — The Role of Design in a New Order'. Speakers leading the frontiers of AI, advanced technologies, and platforms will explore the language of evolution, while designers and architects who have long preserved their own creative worlds will share the wisdom of survival. Together, these sessions illuminate how design prepares for tomorrow.
